Wow, in all the times I’ve seen it, this was the first time I ever noticed that the cover of the Bode issue was by Don Rosa. I’ve been a big fan of his since I started reading his duck stories in the late 80s. I even picked up a bunch of foreign editions on vacation one year when they weren’t being printed here and taught myself enough German to read them.
My ad for my FMZ 1 brought me about five hundred sales. The print shop at the company I worked for printed the whole thing for me...I think that only thing that I had to pay for were the plates...the paper was free. I folded and stapled every copy, put them in mailing envelopes, addressed them, put postage on them and mailed them. I thought that I made lots of money on this, but now thinking back...maybe not so much.
